Eyelid surgery - Blepharoplasty
  • Eyes are one of the most prominent features of the human face and moreover one of the areas that signs of laxity and aging appear more frequently.
  • Eyelid skin is very thin, fragile and susceptible in wrinkling, loosing it’s elasticity and photoaging.
  • Additionally we frequently encounter an increase of the orbital fat which gives rise to the eyelid or malar festoons.
  • These changes can appear even in younger individuals and are assosciated to genetic and predisposing factors.
  • Eyelid surgery can succesfully reverse the signs of eyelid aging, restoring a youthful and refreshed look.
  • Reasons to consider eyelid surgery:
    • To improve the eyelid skin laxity.
    • To correct the festoons.
    • To eliminate eyelid wrinkles.
  • Dr. Agiannidis has experience in both upper and lower blepharoplasty and can combine it with:
    • A brow lift without additional scars.
    • A midface lift without additional scars.
    • A chemical peel for fine wrinkles and eyelid discolorations.
    • Lipofilling of the face.
  • Dr. Agiannidis’ technique is ‘‘fat sparing-fat redistributing’’ meaning that the excisions of orbital fat are kept minimal, avoiding the unsightly‘‘hollow look’’seen so frequently in other eyelid surgeries.
Facelift
  • Photoaging stigmata appear earlier and more frequently on the face compared to the rest of the body.
  • Facial skin gradually loses it’s elasticity and tone while gravity causes stretching and laxity of the skin’s supporting attachments which results in a loose detachment of the facial skin from the deeper structures.
  • Moreover facial subdermal fat becomes thinner with normal aging.
  • As a result aging signs like wrinkles and gravitational changes like brow and forehead droop appear. Fat in the cheeks also droops, which deepens the nasolabial, lines and creates jowls. The neck also sags.
  • Our modern facial rejuvenation approach includes an appraisal of the candidate’s facial features (brow, forehead, cheeks, jowls, eyes, neck) and facial contours in order to choose the appropriate treatment.
  • Facelift involves much more than just tightening the skin:
    • Smoothens deeper wrinkles, folds, sagging and bags in the middle and lower third of the face.
    • Tightens the jawline.
    • Corrects sunken cheeks.
    • Improves loose facial skin.
    • Improves laxity of the deeper facial structures for a long lasting effect.
  • Every case is individualized appreciating facial expressions and preserving the personality, targeting on the localization and degree of facial laxity.
  • The facelift can be successfully combined with:
    • Neck liposculpting (double chin correction)
    • Eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty)
    • Endoscopic brow lift
    • Facial fat transfer
    • Chemical peels
Endoscopic Forehead/Brow Lift
  • The uncovered parts of the body and especially the face carry the heavy toll of sun damage and show the photoaging stigmata much faster.
  • Facial skin becomes dry, looses the elastic qualities which along with the effect of gravity results in sagging of the brow, creases across the forehead and frown lines.
  • As a matter of fact, the forehead/brow complex shows the first signs of aging at a very early stage, sometimes even by the age of 25.
  • Very frequently a tired look is not only the result of loose eyelid skin as many believe, but also contributed to the laxity and gravitational changes of the eyebrow/forehead complex (upper third of the face).
  • In these situations the eyes look tired, angry or sad.
  • Very often surgeons in Greece tend to overlook the effects of brow descend on the ‘’tired’’ look of the aging face.
  • Eyelid surgery alone will certainly not address these issues and neuromodulators like Botox may even worsen the problem.
  • Face ages as a whole. Bearing that in mind it’s easy to understand that treating only the mid or the lower face will certainly have no effect on the forehead or the brows.
  • Dr Agiannidis has an extensive training on the endoscopic forehead/brow lift which is performed through 3 small incisions behind the hairline with the help of an endoscope connected to a camera.
  • With the forehead/brow lift we can achieve:
    • Tighten the brow and forehead skin and correct droopy eyebrows creating a more youthful appearance.
    • Recreate an attractive arched brow.
    • Smoothen or eliminate forehead wrinkles.
  • Dr Agiannidis can perform an internal browpexy through an upper blepharoplasty incision without any additional scars.
  • Forehead/Brow lift can be successfully combined with:
    • Facelift
    • Eyelid surgery
    • Chemical peels
    • Facial fat grafting
  • Dr Agiannidis is also experienced in male endoscopic brow lift surgery.
Chin surgery
  • A weak chin distorts the natural facial lines and creates a disproportionate profile.
  • Chin surgery is one of the most frequent operations in both sexes.
  • Dr. Chris Agiannidis can combine chin surgery with:
    • Rhinoplasty
    • Facelift
    • Eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty)
  • The final result is a harmonious and pleasing facial profile.
  • Reasons to consider chin surgery:
    • Correct a weak, undershapen chin.
    • Correct your facial profile.
    • Make your aesthetic facial lines more appealing.

Ear Correction
  • With otoplasty we can correct 3 major categories of ear deformities:
    • The big ear
    • The protruding ear
    • The earlobe (disproportional, congenital or post traumatic)
  • Otoplasty can be safely performed at the age of 5 years, before the child begins school in order to avoid the social discrimination that protruding ears frequently cause amongst children. After all 85% of ear development has already been performed by the age of 3.
  • Reasons to have an otoplasty:
    • Make your ears smaller
    • Correct your protruding ears
    • Correct other malformations of the size or shape of your ears
    • Make your ears symmetric and proportional to your face
  • These situations might concern only one or more often both ears.

Lip lift
  • The understanding of what needs to be done and what will work best for a patients face is the cornerstone for a successful lip lift treatment.
  • During the clinical evaluation and consultation, the most effective and modern approaches will be suggested, fully individualized for each patient. Every person is different so every treatment can’t be the same for everyone.
  • The choices for lip lift include the following:
    • Direct lift
This minor operation is carried out under local anesthesia and/or sedation. The goal of the direct lift is to increase the visible height of the red lip and decrease the distance between the upper lip and the nose. The results are permanent.
    • Indirect lift
With this minor operation we can achieve the same goal, that is to increase the visible height of the red lip and decrease the distance from the upper lip to the nose. The difference relies on hiding the incision lines to the nose. Again it can be done under local anesthesia and sedation. The results are permanent.
    • Lip lift with autologous fat grafting or injectable fillers
With this treatment we can achieve just a minor lift compared to the previous modalities.
