Lip Augmentation - Pout
  • Juicy, fuller lips have been fundamentally related to images of youth and sexuality.
  • Moreover is one of the most expressive regions of our face.
  • Some people have been born with thin lips but everybody looses lip volume overtime.
  • Injectable fillers are the latest trend in lip augmentation and people starting from their late teens are considering a fuller look for their lips in an attempt to achieve the desired instagram look.
  • The problem with this population is the lack of experience in plastic surgery procedures. They see an instagram post by Kylie Jenner and usually end up to the first (and probably the cheapest) injector they stumble upon the internet. They don’t care about credentials or even if this person is a doctor.
  • Unfortunately regulatory Medical Organizations are not capable of monitoring this growing market. That results in a situation where literally you can have your lips plumbed in every street corner by all kinds of shady injectors (dentists, beauticians, hairdressers even vet students).
  • On the other hand, skyrocketing sales of these products has introduced (according to the laws of free market) a lot of companies and products of unknown origin competing with the renowned and credible companies. In order for those to be competitive they sell marginally safe products at a fraction of the price.
  • Training our patients may sound trivia, but we must remember that we are physicians first and foremost. Just because the general public believes that the applications of such treatment is just a ‘’little injection’’ doesn’t mean that there are not a lot of variables to be considered to ensure the safety of your lips and a great result.
  • Always evaluate what you're putting in your body and by whom.
  • The rationale behind my lip augmentation treatment is not only to provide volume to your lips but additionally :
  1. Improve the quality of your lip skin
  2. Regenerate the sun and age related damages at a cellular level
  3. Stimulate fibroblasts and neocollagenogenesis
  4. Harmonize your lips with the rest of the facial features for a perfect look
  • Hydration and rejuvenation along with volume restoration, brightness and softness is the name of the game with my technique in contrast with the traditional approach where the lips are harmfully stretched.
  • The result and the difference with the different techniques are immediately visible.
  • My treatment will cause no bruising neither lumps and bumps that are so frequently seen. I can guarantee that even for larger volumes.
  • It’s a targeted therapy, we can have the whole lip or focus on specific areas that require attention. The goal is the perfect result.
  • Some people ask if the treatment will overstretch permanently their lips. The answer is that after the products degradation, your lips go back to the original size and shape. The amount of neocollagenogenesis involved will leave a residual volume, which is highly desirable.
  • The end result is natural, soft, and most importantly absolutely controlled.
Botox injectable anti-wrinkle treatment
In General
  • No cosmetic treatment had more impact than Botox.
  • Its an non-invasive, injectable treatment that revolutionized cosmetic practice for the treatment of facial wrinkles.
  • The contemporary approach is not just the classic intramuscular injection technique but microinjecting and adjusting the concentrations to achieve a natural refreshed look.
  • The substance of the treatment is a neuromodulator that causes a temporary relaxation to the targeted muscles that cause facial wrinkling.
  • Botox since its introduction in the field of cosmetic medicine has changed the way we approach wrinkles and frown lines and it’s a very popular procedure worldwide.
  • The safety record of Botox is very robust and considering the fact that millions of patients have been treated with Botox some of which for medical conditions
    • muscle spasms
    • excessive sweating
    • facial neuralgia
    • dystonia
    • migraines
  • where the average dosage is about twice the aesthetic dose.
  • The usual aesthetic application is for frown lines, forehead wrinkles, crows feet, bunny lines, wrinkles around the lips and so forth.
  • The result is a smoother, wrinkle reduced skin without surgery.
  • This treatment can prevent the formation of permanent static wrinkles and sustain the younger look if initiated at an earlier age.
  • With regular injections we can make the face look natural and youthful for a prolonged time.
  • Of course if someone decides to discontinue the treatment the targeted muscles will return to the original state but without the addition of new wrinkles to the area during the treatment period.
More specific
  • It can be successfully combined with fillers like hyaluronic acid.
  • With Botox we can also create some repositioning and give a moderate lift effect, the so-called ‘’chemical lift’’.
  • The contemporary method is focused on a tailored approach based on each candidates muscular pattern. The aim is global facial rejuvenation that doesn’t look overdone and to avoid the ‘’Botox face’’ that looks waxy and fake. Frozen looks are not my practice.
  • The results can be seen between the 1st and 2nd week post treatment and last for approximately 6 months.
  • The targeted area is anesthetized before treatment for a pain and bruise free experience.
Fillers

  • Hyaluronic acid is a polysaccharide in injectable form.
  • Treatment effect typically lasts anywhere between 6 to almost 18 months depending on the type of filler used and the recipient site.
  • Hyaluronic acid is naturally occurring in the human body. This substance draws moisture so that the skin feels hydrated and healthy. Our own cells produce hyaluronic acid naturally in an effort to maintain the hydration levels.
  • The treatment involves a non-surgical injectable rejuvenating procedure with a minimal down time. Its used to replace missing volume caused by aging, hereditary and environmental factors that result in the decrease of the skin’s elastin and collagen levels.
  • It helps filling static wrinkles, depressions and other areas that have lost volume.
  • It is very successful for improving the projection of the chin and also for making fuller lips and cheeks.
  • It’s very efficient in the elimination of static wrinkles or deeper wrinkles that haven’t responded well to neuromodulators like Botox. It’s indicated for treating acne or other post-traumatic depressions and scars.
  • We can achieve a total nonsurgical facial rejuvenation correcting the facial contour, the so-called ‘’liquid lift’’.
  • Depending on the targeted area we have a variety of fillers. A proper knowledge of what each filler is comprised of in terms of its density helps the doctor and the patient find out which one is the best for the job. The cheek area requires a heavy filler while the lips could be treated with a less dense product. Nevertheless there is no rule of thumb and readily available solutions may not always work for every individual. By analyzing the defect and the desired correction we can tailor the treatment.
  • Local anesthesia and the use of extra fine needles makes the treatment extremely tolerable by the patient.
  • After the injection it is normally expected some minor swelling to occur that resides in 24 hours.
